Leonard A. Bard, Ph.D.  is a clinical and forensic psychologist who has been licensed to provide psychological services for over 35 years.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology magna cum laude from Brandeis University in 1979.  In 1984, he graduated from the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at the University of Miami in Florida, a program approved by the American Psychological Association.  

Dr. Bard received advanced forensic training at the Massachusetts Treatment Center for Sexually Dangerous Persons (SDP) and at Bridgewater State Hospital, where he conducted forensic psychological evaluations in a maximum security setting.  He served as a “Qualified Examiner” for many years, conducting evaluations of sexual dangerousness and as one of the first psychologists to be appointed as a Designated Forensic Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  He is currently licensed as a Psychologist in both Massachusetts and New York.

As well, Dr. Bard has been consulted by attorneys in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Virginia, Rhode Island, Washington, North Carolina, Florida and Missouri and has conducted forensic psychological evaluations under various state statutes.  He has also been appointed by the federal courts in Massachusetts and North Carolina to conduct sexually dangerous person evaluations of federal inmates under the Adam Walsh Act.  Dr. Bard has previously conducted forensic psychological trainings for attorneys and psychologists in both Massachusetts and New York, focusing on issues of diagnosis and risk assessment.
